Apple's iPhone 5 (or 4S depending on who you believe) is looking more and more likely to be fully unveiled next week at the World Wide Developers Conference according to Macotakara.

Macotakara are normally on the money when it comes to predicting what Apple might have up it sleeve.

They think that the new handset will come with a 8-megapixel camera, an Arm Cortex-A9 dual-core processor and a sim-less design for the very first time.

We've already heard that Apple wants to do away with the current sim card design, and various sources have claimed that the sim will indeed be shrunk down to a miniature size rather than be done away with altogether.

With the new sim design the new iPhone will become a truly global phone, able to easily access any network, both GSM and CDMA.

It does not matter if Apple call it the iPhone 5 or 4S, it will still be a fifth-generation, as it will be the latest model this year. If Apple were to release two iPhones in one year, than they would be the same generation

With WWDC 2011 just six days away. Whatever Apple decides to call it, the new handset will still be a 5th generation release, as it will be the fifth smartphone from the company.

According to sources speaking to technology news site TechCrunch, the next generation release of Apple’s iOS platform will include some features which, at first glance, appear to be taking their lead from rival Google’s Android platform.

While as-yet unconfirmed by Apple, the site seems confident that two of the major features to be introduced with iOS 5 are a completely overhauled notification system, similar to that used by Google in the tablet-centric ‘Honeycomb’ release of its Android operating system, and interactive widgets that can be installed on an iPhone or iPad’s home screen.

These widgets provide constantly updating information on things like news reports, sports scores, weather forecasts, and stock information, and are designed to sit alongside the shortcuts to applications that current live on the iPhone’s home screen – much like on the Android platform.

We’ll finally get to see what Apple has planned for the rest of the year at their annual World Wide Developers Conference and it will kick off June 6th.
